Hello and welcome back to manda's challenges :0)
Happy New Year all xx
Look what i treated myself to in the sale :)

Cath Kidston sewing tin and duvet cover with matching pillowcases :)
Personally i'm glad to say good ridance to 2010 what a year it's been glad to see the back of it!!
Anyway i'm kicking of 2011 with some joyous news and i hope and pray last years events Never get repeated, a girl can hope can't she?
There was some good stuff don't get me wrong, my love of a returned hobby i took to, to numb the bad stuff that was happening take my mind of it so to speak and that has been wonderful :) and in most ways helped ~~ I took to it like a duck to water after finding a fabulous blog most of you know as Attic24 and the lovely Lucy that has inspired soo many along the way. I was hooked i remember dashing off down to our not so local yarn store and purchasing all these fabulous colours to start on the summer garden granny square
first attempt at granny square flowers

it was brilliant i loved it, it does'nt look like that it kind of unravelled i guess in several places or could have been cut?? i guess i'll never know? Looking back through the photo archives it was took in feb
I recall several trips from there on to the LYS to purchase different brands of yarn i was hooked i made a ripple blanket for the car for the cold mornings to work
ripple car blankie

out of bamboo yarn it was very thin for a dk but the colours were scrumptious using Lucy's excellent tutorial
She had me exploring stitches i never knew existed i then had to have The Bag you know it
attic24 bag

haha that was yet another trip to the lys for another bag full of yarn and using the tutorial here
more different stitches to explore so why stop there? i didn't i made the birdie
birdie
from the same yarn and the wreath,
wreath
then explored other things like my cupcake
my pin cushion

my shabby chic storage box!
progress report
African flower update
baby ripple
there really was no stopping me all these possibilities bouncing at me and all thank's to Lucy and her beautiful blog xx
May 30th i discovered Flickr and busilly set about putting all my creations on there it was then i discovered a whole new world of crochet and a new way to share with other's equally hooked on crochet ,

Designed by Handmadekitty.etsy.com
didn't take long before i came across Sue and Sibol through the lovely Bethel of Bethania and Pertinitaco (Pilar)
crochet itsy bitzy bee
who showed me a new meaning of crocheting for people that would appriciate a handmade gift , together as a group we have made 44 blankets and counting and have spread the love of crochet to the people that need it the most.
We've had loads of fun along the way i'll have to do a seperate collage for that one day but what joy...
Which brings me on to the lovely Roy can you remember? i made him a ripple blanket to keep him warm on his ventures out and about. i don't have a pic of him with it but i do have this
He popped in to see me New year';s Eve what a treat bless him xxx i could make out he was hoping to have a glass of Asti Spumanti to loose in the new year awww
What a fabulous end to the year i wish him and his family the very best of health and happiness for 2011 xx

Now it's nearing the time of year when i started my crocheting journey so keep your eyes peeled i'm planning a giveaway to celebrate with hopefully collages of my years creations finished and not quite finished hope you're all keeping well take care Love Amanda xxx
